Bronx Companies to go Green in Style for NYC Green Festival as it Launches This Weekend

Our First NYC Green Festival is only days away! Join us this weekend, April 21-22 at Javits Center North!

Connect with your local community to find ideas and innovations that help you take the next green steps in your life. Hundreds of speakers, exhibitors, DIY workshops, films, eco-fashion designs, cooking demos, kid’s activities and more will inspire your actions to make every day Earth Day!

Javits Center North is an extension to the original Javits Center, located on 11th Avenue, between 39th and 40th Streets. The main entrance is located at 11th Ave and 40th St. Javits Center North is also accessible from the main Javits Center

Admission is affordable on any budget. Purchase your ticket online for a special discount price! Support Green Festival and get the full experience by purchasing a Fan Pass. Online ticket sales end Friday at 5pm.

Plan ahead for presentations you want to catch and exhibitors you would like to see by viewing the NYC Event Guide Online. Look for the book icon to denote book signings immediately after presentations!

Check out exciting Main Stage Program Additions:

  • Road to Rio + 20 and Beyond – in collaboration with Huffington Post Sunday 12pm. This panel will feature: James Hanusa (Rio+20 Green Economy Advisor, Stakeholder Forum; San Francisco Bay Area Earth Summit Delegation); Carl Safina (prominent ecologist, marine conservationist and president of Blue Ocean Institute); Jack Hidary (Entrepreneur in clean energy technology and policy, Chairman of SmartTransportation.org, founder & Chairman of National Lab Network, co-founder and former President and CEO of EarthWeb/Dice); and, Priscilla Starr (Executive Director, Coalition Against Nukes).
  • Discuss social entrepreneurship and enterprises, including 2012 Edison award nominee EcoAd, with CBS EcoMedia Inc. founder, Paul Polizzotto, Saturday at 5pm.
  • In a special satellite presentation Saturday at 5:30pm, the Road to Rio Collaborative presents a preview and discussion of the new film, The Big Fix, executive produced by Tim Robbins and featuring Peter Fonda. Hear from Award Winning Filmmakers Rebecca and Josh Tickell about the intentional cover up of the Gulf oil spill and how it relates to fracking, the tar sands, Keystone XL and further oil developments.

Bronx companies to go green in style for NYC festival

Hundreds of companies are ready to go green in style during this weekend’s NYC Green Festival.

Eco-friendly entrepreneurs are preparing to show how to save businesses and customers money, while protecting the environment.

Officials say more than 300 companies, including about a dozen from the Bronx, will be taking part in the event that coincides with Earth Day.
